Are caps for cats only?
Mainly, and that is where they make sense. Dogs wear them off quickly on hard ground and rely on their nails for grip, so caps tend to be pointless or unhelpful. A dog damaging skin by scratching is better served by regular trimming.
One came off after two days.
One or two early losses are common, usually where a nail was hardest to get fully dry or the cat worked at it. Losing most of a set in days is not, and points at sizing or nails needing a closer trim. Tell us and we will look.
