My dog has short fur. Is this pointless?

How do I know if my dog is double-coated?

Does it work on a curly coat?
Not in the same way. A curly coat holds shed hair instead of dropping it, so the job there is brushing and de-matting rather than raking out an undercoat. Booking de-shedding for a poodle cross is booking the wrong service.
